I’m a Positive Kid creates creative and critical thinking activities for children. Our goal is to get kids thinking on their own and then ultimately thinking for themselves, in a positive way. Every child has a unique voice and we believe that the sooner they own that voice, the better! Helping you to prepare and empower your child for the world ahead of them is what we strive for.
The books I’m a? A Book of Rhymes, Riddles, and Choices and I’m a? Halloween Edition were first written because I wanted an interactive read-aloud book that my 3-year-old and I could cuddle up on the couch with. I was coming up with (easy) riddles at work as a way to increase morale when someone suggested to me something I had already been thinking—“you should write a children’s book or something”—and so I did. I combined riddles for kids with multiple choice to make it more like a fun game. My children feel like they’re “winning” each time they turn the page to reveal the correct answer. This builds their self-confidence and teaches them problem-solving skills with play-based learning. Exercising their cognitive functions before preschool has only benefited them that much more.
As a parent, it’s hard to find the right words to teach our children or to even get them to listen to us, for that matter (we have no idea what we’re talking about, right?). This is why I created my most prized possession, Positivity City…A Kid’s Awareness, Betterment, and Coping Activity. It teaches kids positive thinking and mindfulness using characters their age. The wonderful poster and “mailing” activity for elementary ages 6-10 uses motivational stories that turn negative situations into positive learning lessons. It promotes having an optimistic attitude, emotional intelligence, and a growth mindset. Positivity City is meant to make children feel secure in themselves, and help maintain a positive self-concept.
